SeamTrip helps you plan and reserve trips in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This notice explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Contact: hello@seamtrip.com.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), and optionally your phone number, home address and preferred currency.
- Signing in with Google or Apple: we receive your name and verified email from them (Apple may give a private relay address) — never your Google or Apple password.
- Saved travelers (optional): names as in the passport, nationality, date of birth, passport number and expiry — so checkout fills itself in. Passport numbers are encrypted when stored and only the last 4 characters are ever shown back.
- Trips: dates, places, flights you enter, hotels and transport you choose, and trips you reserve.
- Waitlist and partner enquiries: the details you send us.
- Technical data: basic logs needed to run and secure the service.
We do not collect payment card details in the current preview.
Why we use it
- To provide your account, plan your trips and handle reservations (contract).
- To contact you about your reservation by email or WhatsApp (contract).
- To keep the service secure and fix problems (legitimate interest).
- To send product news only if you joined the waitlist or agreed to it (consent — opt out any time).
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run SeamTrip (for example hosting, email, Google and Apple for sign-in, Meta for WhatsApp sign-in codes) and — when real bookings start — the hotels and transport operators you choose, so they can serve you (a passport number only to an airline or ferry operator that needs it for your booking). We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is open. Reservation records are kept for up to two years after the trip, or longer if the law requires (for example tax records).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent and object to processing. Download everything we hold under Account → Settings → Download my data. Remove a saved traveler any time, or delete your account under Settings → Delete my account; it removes your profile, saved travelers, plans in progress and reservations. You may also complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee.
Security
Encrypted connections, hashed passwords, short-lived login tokens and limited access to data. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
